"KUHL GUMMI"
KoolMat Insulation for Mercedes-Benz 190SLs and 300SL Gullwings and Roadsters
KoolMat is a composite material of silicone cured to the surface/weave of a high temperature fiberglass substrate. Because the silicone attaches itself to the textile, there is no separation, and no flow of air or liquids through KoolMat. The silicone offers a great resistance to abrasion, radiant heat, gasses and oils. No matter what the temperature.KoolMat is able to withstand 500 degrees F of continuous heat and up to 1100 degrees F on the fiberglass side. KoolMat contains no asbestos. It is used by 80% of NASCAR teams and was accepted by NHRA in October 1994. Koolmat is now available for the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe/Roadster and the 190SL. Our kits are individually custom cut to order by hand from our patterns.
Available pre-cut in three configurations:
The 11 piece Easy Installation Set only requires removal you to unsnap the floor mat to install and provides basic insulation for the interior floor areas. Price: $600.00
The 32 piece Intermediate Set includes all of the pieces contained in the Easy Installation Set as well as kick panels, inside rocker sills and the vertical wall of the luggage shelf. It requires removal of some interior trim that is attached with screws (no glued in trim needs to be removed). Price: $1200.00
The 58 piece Master Set includes all of the pieces contained in the Intermediate and Easy Installation Sets along with rear deck/trunk, transmission tunnel, inside firewall and more. The Master Set is most appropriate for use during a full restoration. Price: $1800.00

"HEIZUNG LEITBLECH"
KoolMat Space age heat barrier for Mercedes 300SL Gullwings and Roadsters
Our three piece kit is pre-cut to fit your prized Mercedes 300SL. These heat shields include a piece of 2500 degree rated NASA Insulation sandwiched between two textured inconel panels, grommeted for easy installation. Installed with Stainless Steel tie straps. (supplied) These can be used by themselves to greatly reduce the exhaust heat that penetrates the passanger compartment or they can be combined with our "Kuhl Gummi" Interior heat and sound suppression kits for the ultimate in comfort.

"Tail Pipe Tunnels"
Heat reducing panel for Gullwings
Made of light weight Inconel, these precut and formed tunnels fit over the tail pipe to reduce the heat transfer to your interior. Our tests indicate a 30 degree reduction in temperature wheh compared to the stock aluminum pan. Includes "nutserts" however you will need to mark and drill your own holes to ensure a proper fit.

Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Headliner
"Correct" Replacement for your Restoration!
This custom headliner material is a "correct" reproduction of the original headliner used in the 300SL Gullwing. The pattern, weave and weight are all accurately duplicated.
