Policy and Rate
Information (as of 1/1/2011)
The Western
Pennsylvania region where our shop is located has been able out ride
out the recent economic downturn with less impact than in other areas
of the country. This has allowed us to maintain our very competitive
labor rates without sacrificing quality.
Rates:
Work is performed
on a “Time and Materials” basis
Shop Labor Rate is
$60.00 per hour
A minimum shop fee
of $6.00 per hour is charged to cover the cost of consumables
Parts are billed
at cost plus 20%
Sublet services
are billed at cost plus 20%
Shipping is billed
at cost
Deposits, Billing
and Payment:
All projects
require a deposit roughly equal to one month's expected labor charge
in order to begin
Projects are
billed monthly and include a description of all work and services
performed and parts received. Photographs may be included as
documentation
Payment of the
minimum amount due is expected within 30 days of the billing.
Interest charges may be incurred after 30 days.
Invoices not paid
within 30 days of the billing will result in a work stoppage until
paid
Projects suspended
due to non-payment may be subject to storage and late fees. Projects
suspended at the owners request may be subject to storage fees
All projects must
be paid in full before the car is released
Estimates:
In general, we
don't give estimates. The nature of restoration work makes it nearly
impossible to do so. Everything is relative.....the condition of the
vehicle, its rarity, cost of parts, amount of research, etc. That
said, most of our restorations range from $100,000 to $400,000. It
is very rare that the cost will come in under $100k. A full, body
off restoration will require 2000 – 3000 hours of effort or
more.
We will work with
you to define a “Scope” of work to be performed that can
help us to set expectations for the project.
Our labor rate is
guaranteed for the life of the project (even if it is several years)
so long as the project is maintained in an “Active”
state (25+ hours/month) from beginning to end. Late payments or
“suspending” a project could result in an increase in
the labor rate to current levels when the project is restarted.
