1955 Gullwing

As you can see here, we use masking tape as a reference to mark off the locations that need some attention. Everything from chipped paint to poor body contour and alignment is examined. Our inspection covers visual appearance along with mechanical and structural integrity. Wow, that's a mouthful.

We have stripped the paint and are checking for hood alignment.
This is a shot of the trunk lid. As you can see, more alignment troubles.

Here we have marked off some places that need attention.
It looks like some tried to install the popup door locks on the wrong side of the car. I won't mention any names.

Closer shot of the small crater.
Areas like this are sometimes hard to spot under the paint. If you're going to inspect your own car, take your time and make use of your fingers. Touch sensitivity can often find things the eye can't see.

Here is an area we see far too often. This is going to need some scrubb'in and goo.
Something like this, as small as it may seem, will require opening and patching in a new fabricated piece.

We have found a few of these small fractures all around the truck lid.
We have sanded off the paint in the areas that needed attention.

This is another problem area we found were the two body panels met.
It looks like the left side eyebrow has sprouted wings.

This is the right side eyebrow. There seems to be quit a bit of deterioration here.
Oh look, the outside door lock again. Deterioration has weakened the metal and will need to be replaced.

Here we have attached a new piece of metal to the driver's side. The screws are only temporary while we adjust the new body panel.
We had the body material blasted to remove the rest of the paint. Here we found some more weak points in the metal.

Here is some bad body work between the rear window and truck opening.
Lots of damage here by the rear of the driver's side door opening.

Passenger's side fender area will require some filler to smooth out the dents.
Wide shot of the front end. Take a look at the headlight hole.

There are a lot of tears here.

KOOLMAT products specifically designed for the Gullwing.

Back seat.
Custom fit.

Here we have applied KOOLMAT products to front cabin area.

Here we had to patch in a new frame horn. Funny, it doesn't look like a horn.
We removed grill and headlight section for repair.

Here is the new piece. Looks a lot better.

This is the bottom of the grill section.
And finally the hood. We had to put the clients name on it to match his lunch box.

Basic template for the driver's side fender section.
Super turbo charged grillwork.

This is the underside of the front fender and bumper area.

This is the master craft of Wes. This baby has more contours than a Victoria's Secret catalogue.
