Originally manufactured for the race track, a client brought in a '55 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster. Production of the original Roadster and Gullwing road versions ran from 1954 to 1963.
This particular vehicle came to our shop for a paint job. It had been restored at another shop and just needed painted. However, we found a lot of boo boos and whoopsies that the other shop failed to recogonize. Check out what we had to fix.

This is Bill. Say, hi Bill. He is working on removing the inline straight 6cyl engine. Notice that it is slanted. That was to accomodate the low profile hood. |
This is the tubular frame for the 300SL. Yeah, they had those. |

Here is Bill and his evil twin getting the frame ready to paint. And there is the frame painted. That was fast. |

This is Wes' pie pan. Big enough to fit a spare tire. In fact, that is what we used it for. |
Wes is fitting the rest of the metal onto the spare tire well. Hand crafted himself. |
